Sunglasses with your prescription

The same bespoke frame, with lenses that filter the sun and correct your sight. One pair, from the sea to the motorway.

The sun down here asks for serious lenses

The point

Bari gets sun three hundred days a year, and on the water it doubles. A dark lens with no filter is worse than no lens: the pupil opens and the UV comes straight in.

Our sun lenses filter 100% of UV up to 400 nanometres, in any colour and with any prescription.

And because the frame is bespoke it stays put when you sweat, run or lean out of the boat.

Four lenses for four uses

You choose them by looking out of the studio door.

  • 01

    Polarised

They remove glare from water and tarmac. For driving, sailing and fishing.

  • 02

    Graduated

Dark at the top, light at the bottom. Elegant, and easy to read with outdoors.

  • 03

    Photochromic

Clear indoors, dark outside. One pair if you are in and out all day.

  • 04

    Prescription

All of the above, with your correction. Progressives too.

The frame

For the sun the shape can be bolder

You wear prescription glasses sixteen hours a day and they have to disappear. Sunglasses you put on by choice, and they can say something.

Bigger shapes need more precision, not less. A wide lens is heavy, and if the bridge is wrong you feel it within half an hour.

On the sun and on lenses

Three things to know before you choose.

Does a darker lens protect more?

No. Protection comes from the UV filter, which is clear. Colour is only about comfort, and you pick it by how much light bothers you.

Are polarised lenses good for driving?

Yes, they are the best against glare from a wet road. They can make some car displays harder to read, and we test that together.

Can I put sun lenses in my prescription frame?

Yes, if the shape can take a thicker lens. Or we make a second pair in the same shape, which then costs less.
